Strategy[ | ]
All four of the tank-as-weapon variants are limited to 3 movement, and are generally much weaker than a Mech. However, they can offer a crucial 4th action per turn, along with another unit to bait enemy Vek into attacking instead of Grid Buildings.
On harder difficulty levels, the major challenge is finding a turn has enough slack to deploy the tank rather than using the Mech's (typically more powerful) primary weapon. Once the Tank is out, subsequent turns become much easier.
The A.C.I.D. Tank can be helpful for decreasing the Squads reliance on damage upgrades, but its lack of initial displacement prevents it from reliably resolving targets until Push is powered (and is thus a recommended upgrade to get quickly).
