Some Missions have additional units available, and successful completion of those missions often involve protecting those units.
- "Active" allied units behave the same as units in the squad; each turn the player can choose their movement and/or attack.
- "Passive" allied units also exist but can't be directly interacted with. Some Passive Allied units must be destroyed to fulfill the mission bonus objective; an example being the Old Earth Dam.
Both the above allow passing-through movement of squad/allied units.
